The LATISM (Latinos in Tech Innovation and Social Media) movement has served as an instrumental vehicle for the advancement of Latinos across the nation in education, health, business, technology, and advocacy.
Each year, Latino Bloggers, Vloggers, and Writers from across the country are chosen for their advocacy and service to their community, and I am so excited and proud to announce that I have been chosen as one of them.  We are chosen based on the work we do in the business, health, education, public policy, and social cause sectors. This will be my second year as a selected blogger to attend the renowned annual conference hosted by LATISM and sponsored partners.  Considering that the competition is steep (there is some serious Latino talent out there), I regard this honor with great respect. This year, the conference will take place at the vacation capitol of America! Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort in Orlando Florida will serve as the venue of this year’s prestigious event.

Why is LATISM a big deal?

This is an organization that has established a reputable following in digital communities. From the beginning, their focus is centered around empowering Latino men and woman for entrepreneurship, continuing education, and self-advocacy.  LATISM is at the top of their game when it comes to using social media for promoting leadership, advocating for systemic change, and the advancement of Latinos in the business industry - all the while highlighting the various ways in which Latino culture has positively impacted our ever changing society.  Over the years, Latino customs and traditions have been embraced, honored and even woven into American culture.

What are Latino Agents of Change?

As one of the chosen bloggers from across the country to participate in this year’s event, I know that my role is to maintain the standard already set by LATISM.  I am a parent of a child with a disability who is well-versed with special education processes, my role is to pay that forward.  My site, Sensory Friends, is a way for me to share my knowledge, resources, and information with other parents dealing with similar struggles and issues and LATISM took notice.  An Agent of Change is someone who dedicates their time, energy, and sometimes their life to creating positive change by using digital technology and social media in their outreach efforts.  I am humbled to have been recognized by my esteemed friends at LATISM as an agent of change.
Please stay tuned friends, as I plan to blog about all that is shared, learned, and experienced at this year’s LATISM conference in Orlando. However, if you're interested in attending this event, please click here and register. Please be advised that you will have a fantastic time meeting world-class speakers, writers, and professionals who are experts in their field. You'll enjoy networking with representatives of the some of the world's most powerful corporate brands, and you will love the friendly welcome, and the Latino ambiance that is all things LATISM.

Sincerely, Christine SensoryFriends
